Senior Java Full‑Stack Engineer (Emiratisation)

About the role

Emirates is seeking a Senior Technical Software Engineer to join its Product Engineering team in Dubai. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining Java‑based full‑stack solutions that support the airline’s global operations. You will work within an agile feature team, collaborating closely with cross‑functional partners.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy complex Java full‑stack solutions using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and related technologies.
• Conduct technical design reviews to ensure appropriate architecture patterns.
• Drive engineering best practices, including test‑driven development, CI/CD automation, and lean software development.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to evaluate solution viability and create prototypes or proof‑of‑concepts.
• Investigate, debug, and resolve complex production issues.
• Mentor and guide junior software engineers, ensuring adherence to coding standards.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications, supporting corrective, adaptive, and perfective maintenance.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience developing Java applications (Java 8/11/17) with Spring Boot.
• Hands‑on experience with front‑end frameworks such as ReactJS and NextJS.
• Proficiency in messaging and integration tools (Solace, Tibco, Kafka) and Netflix OSS components.
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) and hybrid cloud (AWS, Azure).
• Strong knowledge of relational (Oracle SQL) and NoSQL databases, and building RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, SRE principles, and automated testing.
