About the role
Trip.com Group is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for the EMEA region, based in Dubai with a hybrid working model. You will advise senior stakeholders on commercial projects, ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and support the business’s growth in the Middle East and wider EMEA market.
Key responsibilities
- Provide commercially focused legal advice to senior stakeholders on key projects and new initiatives.
- Navigate complex multi‑jurisdictional legal issues across EMEA, coordinating with other Trip.com Group legal teams.
- Lead compliance matters covering data protection, consumer protection, emerging digital and technology regulation, marketing, promotions, and travel‑specific regulation.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments across EMEA and drive implementation projects for timely compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including high‑value agreements with travel product suppliers and partners.
- Build trusted relationships with senior commercial, finance, HR, and marketing stakeholders, acting as a genuine business partner.
- Communicate complex legal concepts clearly to stakeholders at all levels and deliver training sessions and guidance materials.
- Manage and resolve commercial and consumer legal disputes in collaboration with internal teams.
- Support the business in engagements with regulators across EMEA and collaborate with European legal teams within the Trip.com Group.
Required profile
- Proven experience advising senior stakeholders on commercial and regulatory matters.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multi‑jurisdictional legal issues across the EMEA region.
- Strong background in compliance areas such as data protection, consumer protection, and digital regulation.
- Experience drafting and negotiating high‑value commercial contracts.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate legal requirements into actionable guidance.
