Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

FIX Dessert Chocolatier is looking for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to provide strategic and operational legal support across its fast‑growing retail, manufacturing, and distribution businesses. The role will ensure that the company’s expansion aligns with legal compliance, strong governance, and effective risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including supplier, distribution, franchise, licensing, NDA, SLA, procurement and partnership contracts.
• Advise management on corporate matters, governance, business risks and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal stakeholders in retail, manufacturing, marketing, operations, HR and finance with day‑to‑day commercial queries.
• Assist with corporate structuring, new entity setup, international market entry, franchising and joint‑venture arrangements.
• Manage and protect the company’s IP portfolio globally, overseeing registrations, renewals, licensing and enforcement.
• Ensure compliance with UAE and GCC food regulations, labeling laws, consumer protection rules and trade compliance.
• Liaise with government authorities and external advisors for licensing, permits and regulatory approvals.
• Handle disputes, arbitration and litigation, managing external counsel and settlement negotiations.
• Identify operational and contractual risks, providing mitigation strategies and supporting strategic initiatives such as capital investments and new projects.

Required profile

• Significant experience in commercial, corporate, regulatory and operational legal matters.
• Proven track record with multi‑jurisdictional transactions, franchising and international expansions.
• Strong background in intellectual property management and enforcement.
• In‑depth knowledge of UAE and GCC food‑related regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams and senior leadership.
