Senior Legal Counsel

About the role
The Senior Legal Counsel will oversee the full spectrum of legal affairs for the company, providing expert advice, risk mitigation, and strategic guidance across commercial, drilling, subsurface, and other operational functions.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, organize and supervise all legal activities within the company.
- Draft, review and negotiate complex contracts, ensuring compliance with UAE law and company policies.
- Provide preventive legal advice to senior management, procurement, and project teams to minimise disputes and litigation.
- Coordinate with external counsel on litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution matters.
- Assess contractor claims, advise on settlements and prepare arbitration submissions.
- Advise on regulatory changes, corporate governance and the impact of new initiatives on business operations.
- Supervise and mentor junior legal staff.
Required profile
- Bachelor degree in Law from a recognised university.
- Minimum 8 years of legal experience in the petroleum, oil‑and‑gas or major industrial sector.
- Proven experience handling international contracts, arbitration and corporate governance matters.
