Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

As Senior Legal Counsel at NEXT Ventures, you will lead the legal function across commercial, corporate, regulatory and technology matters, ensuring safe and commercial operations at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including service, vendor, technology and partnership agreements.
• Provide legal support for corporate matters such as group structuring, governance, intercompany arrangements and corporate housekeeping.
• Handle cross‑border and multi‑jurisdictional legal issues for the Group’s international entities.
• Deliver regulatory and compliance support for fintech and financial services, including licensing and framework implementation.
• Advise on privacy, data protection, data‑sharing and intellectual property matters.
• Manage technology arrangements, software licensing and procurement contracts.
• Conduct independent legal research and translate findings into practical recommendations.
• Liaise with external counsel, regulators and professional advisers as required.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with senior‑level experience.
• Proven track record in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Strong corporate law background covering structuring, governance and transactions.
• Experience with cross‑border, multi‑jurisdictional legal matters.
• Solid understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in financial or technology sectors.
• Hands‑on experience with privacy, data protection and intellectual property.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
