About the role
The Senior Legal Counsel will provide dedicated legal support to Business Development teams on power and water projects, focusing on Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and PPP/PFI structures across multiple regions. The role involves drafting, negotiating and risk‑allocating key project documents under compressed bid timelines.
Key responsibilities
- Lead negotiation and drafting of Operation & Maintenance Agreements, Long‑Term Service Agreements and related subcontractors.
- Support review and risk assessment of PPAs, concession agreements and IWPP/IWP structures.
- Coordinate with lenders on O&M‑related matters and ensure compliance with project‑finance security structures.
- Collaborate with Business Development, technical, operations and corporate legal teams to align contractual and corporate structuring.
- Conduct legal due diligence in new jurisdictions and liaise with local counsel.
Required profile
- Qualified in English law or New York law with 5–8 years PQE.
- In‑house or top‑tier law firm experience in power and water sector PPP/PFI projects.
