Senior Linux Administrator

About the role

ISA is looking for a Senior Linux Administrator in Sharjah. The role ensures the availability and scalability of technology platforms in collaboration with internal and external teams, meeting current and future business needs in line with prescribed IT measures and ISA policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and guidance to IT teams and deliver technology designs for IT projects
• Assist in planning and implementing systems and platforms, developing solutions that meet customer requirements and ISA architectural standards
• Monitor platform performance and incidents, resolve them and provide workarounds to minimise business impact
• Contribute to service continuity planning and implement resulting plans
• Translate logical designs into physical ones, develop system designs, specifications, documentation, configuration standards, administration processes and operations manuals
• Specify user interfaces, validation and error correction procedures, processing rules, access and security and audit controls
• Run benchmark studies, manage the lifecycle and replacement of systems and software, and assess risks and define recovery and contingency procedures
• Install and remove hardware and software, update configuration records, and develop installation procedures, standards and schedules
• Build software modules, configure hardware environments and run integration tests
• Maintain application support processes, use application management software to investigate issues, collect performance statistics, generate reports and perform backups and restores
• Monitor service desk processes, report metrics against service levels and recommend corrective actions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in IT Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology
• ITIL certification
• Fluent English
• Cost-benefit analysis of IT investments and strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Able to deliver against business strategy and KPIs
