About the role
Dubai Holding Group Services, the shared-services arm of Dubai Holding, is hiring a Junior Backend Engineer for an on-site position in Dubai. You will help develop and maintain scalable backend systems that support the group's diverse business needs.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement backend solutions to improve system performance.
- Work with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements.
- Help design and optimise databases for efficient data retrieval.
- Write clean, maintainable and efficient code following established standards.
- Take part in code reviews to ensure quality and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to improve their functionality.
- Contribute to the documentation of systems and processes.
- Keep up with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proven experience in backend development with relevant technologies.
Required skills
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Understanding of database management systems and SQL.
- Desired: experience with cloud services and deployment strategies.
- Desired: knowledge of containerisation tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.
