Senior Manager Engineering

About the role

Lead the design of airport systems, building services and infrastructure utilities across a major airport development and expansion programme. As the senior technical authority you will ensure designs are compliant, sustainable, constructible and aligned with the master plan and stakeholder needs from concept through handover.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for MEP, life safety, ELV, utilities and specialist airport systems such as BHS, PBB, PCA, GPU, AGL and security screening.
• Ensure compliance with international and local standards (BS/EN, IEC, ASHRAE, NFPA, UAE regulations, etc.).
• Coordinate building services with architectural, civil and structural disciplines and resolve design clashes.
• Develop scopes of work for consultants and design‑build contracts, review engineering submissions and maintain design intent through construction.
• Manage design consultants on schedule, budget and quality, conduct QA audits and drive value engineering.
• Embed sustainability (LEED, Estidama) and emerging technologies, and work with procurement, finance and operations on change control.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Plumbing/Public Health Engineering and a project management certification.
• 8+ years of airport/aviation experience, including 5+ years in a managerial design & engineering role.
• At least 5 years on UAE/GCC airport projects (greenfield or brownfield).
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
