Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Fabrication

About the role

EDGE is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Fabrication to design, optimise and implement fabrication layouts and manufacturing processes, driving productivity, cost reduction and quality excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimise fabrication layouts, workflows and manufacturing processes to improve productivity, reduce waste and control production costs.
• Validate prototype manufacturing processes, conduct time and motion studies, verify MBOMs and ensure production readiness.
• Monitor production performance, labour productivity, equipment efficiency and quality KPIs to identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering, production and quality teams to implement process improvements, cost‑reduction initiatives and efficient serial production operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical/Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 12 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in aerospace and composite manufacturing.
• Experience with composite part industrialisation from engineering definition through production.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of CATIA V5 and Composite Part Design (CPD) Catia.
• Ability to review 3D models, engineering drawings and assemblies.
• Experience with composite ply definition, ply flattening and preparing manufacturing data for laser projection systems.
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and supporting NCR/MRB activities.
• Familiarity with ERP/PLM systems such as SAP and ARAS.
• Experience creating and maintaining manufacturing routings, mBOM and WKI.
• Tooling and assembly jig design expertise.
