Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Generator Manufacturing

About the role

WinMatch is recruiting, on behalf of an established industrial organisation in Dubai, a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to strengthen its engineering team and help develop customised power generation solutions. The role combines mechanical design, hands-on manufacturing support and product optimisation, with a permanent, full-time position based on site in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical design from initial requirements through manufacturing support, working with engineering and production teams.
• Develop and optimise diesel generator sets, customised power packages, baseframes, enclosures, cooling systems and associated components.
• Prepare and validate 3D models, fabrication drawings, mechanical calculations and manufacturing documentation.
• Support CNC/CAM programming, sheet-metal fabrication and nesting optimisation.
• Design and optimise exhaust systems and silencers, considering acoustic performance, flow and backpressure, and support testing and quality activities.
• Coordinate with production, resolve engineering issues, guide junior designers and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 8 years of mechanical design experience, including 4-5 years in diesel generator design, generator manufacturing or customised power generation packages.
• Practical experience with CNC/CAM, sheet-metal fabrication, laser cutting, punching and press-brake bending.
• Strong knowledge of generator package integration, cooling and ventilation systems, and exhaust and silencer design.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, EPC or heavy industrial projects is an advantage.

Required skills

• Advanced SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, with strong 3D modelling and fabrication drawing skills.
• Design for manufacturing and mechanical calculations.
