Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC)

About the role

Stantec is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer specialized in HVAC to lead the design delivery for building services projects in the United Arab Emirates. The role involves overseeing the creation of functional and detailed mechanical designs from concept through construction, ensuring compliance with quality standards, client expectations, and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Mechanical (HVAC) design team to produce accurate, high‑quality, and timely deliverables.
• Coordinate daily with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, statutory authorities, and global Stantec offices.
• Maintain full project documentation in line with Stantec processes and procedures.
• Identify project risks, propose mitigation measures, and communicate them to commercial teams and clients.
• Support project budgeting and bid development as required.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers to build technical proficiency.

Required profile

• Mechanical Building Services Engineer with at least 12 years of post‑graduate experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in the Middle East, preferably the UAE.
• Proven leadership of design teams and strong communication skills.
