Construction Manager – Civils & Cut‑and‑Cover

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead civil works and cut‑and‑cover tunnel projects in Dubai. The role involves overseeing all construction activities from inception to completion, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee construction activities within site boundaries, monitoring progress against the contractor’s schedule.
• Manage labour, equipment, and tools, ensuring compliance with UAE laws and project requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, testing and commissioning in line with project management processes.
• Ensure contractors obtain all necessary permits and adhere to safety plans.
• Identify risks and opportunities, recommending cost‑saving strategies and timeline improvements.
• Prepare internal and external reports on project status for senior management and the client.
• Administer contracts, manage claims, and fulfill contractual performance conditions.
• Guide contractors, set priorities, and monitor performance to meet contractual, legal, and quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architecture or a related field (advanced degrees or certifications preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of construction management experience, specifically in rail design and consultancy projects.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale rail construction from inception to completion.
• Strong knowledge of risk management, contract administration, procurement processes and relevant UAE regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities.
