Senior Microwave Design Engineer

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, is hiring a Senior Engineer - Microwave Design for its Halcon business unit. The engineer leads the design, development, integration and validation of advanced microwave and RF subsystems for radar and military applications, providing technical leadership and mentoring engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of microwave circuits, RF front-ends and high-frequency subsystems for radar and defence applications.
• Perform electromagnetic modelling, RF simulation, performance analysis and design optimisation to meet system requirements.
• Plan and execute RF testing, subsystem integration, troubleshooting, verification and qualification activities.
• Provide technical leadership, conduct design reviews and mentor engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in RF, microwave, radar or high-frequency system engineering.
• Strong expertise in microwave subsystem design, including RF front-ends, amplifiers, filters, mixers, oscillators and frequency synthesizers.
• Preferred: experience in defence, aerospace, airborne radar, electronic warfare or military communication systems, and prior experience leading technical teams, engineering reviews, integration activities and qualification programs.
• English proficiency required; unsolicited resumes from recruitment agencies are not accepted.

Required skills

• RF design and simulation tools such as ADS, CST/HFSS, AWR, MATLAB and C/C++.
• Electromagnetic modelling and RF performance analysis.
