Senior Motion Simulator Engineer

About the role

EDGE is seeking a highly motivated Senior Motion Simulator Engineer to support the maintenance, calibration, and continuous improvement of advanced navigation production and test facilities. The role focuses on ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and upholding the highest standards of calibration and performance for inertial navigation products.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and support production test facilities and associated high‑precision equipment.
• Develop and execute calibration, verification, and maintenance procedures, including Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities.
• Monitor equipment reliability, downtime, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and generate related documentation.
• Support annual calibration activities, ensure compliance of production assets, and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Identify critical spare‑part requirements, develop mitigation plans, and assist with commissioning and qualification of new test equipment.

Required profile

• Foundation Degree, HND, Advanced Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 4/5 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of calibration and maintenance support experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on experience with motion simulators, precision test equipment, automated test systems, and high‑accuracy measurement systems.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex electromechanical issues and maintain calibration records for audits.
