Senior Officer, Health and Safety

About the role

M42 delivers healthcare services across the full continuum of care, from primary care to advanced specialty treatments, with a global presence of more than 480 facilities in 27 countries. Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital, a 200-bed JCI-accredited hospital in the Northern Emirates, is part of this network. The Senior Officer, Health and Safety role identifies hazards, helps develop controls and supports audits, drills, training and education so that the facility remains a safe environment for staff, patients, residents, contractors and visitors, while ensuring compliance with the hospital's Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OSHMS).

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support workplace health, safety and risk management programmes across the organisation.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
• Conduct risk assessments and help identify solutions to reduce workplace hazards.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
• Deliver safety training, awareness programmes and emergency preparedness initiatives.
• Coordinate emergency drills and support business continuity and disaster response activities.
• Perform safety audits, inspections and compliance reviews to meet regulatory requirements.
• Partner with leaders and departments to create a safe environment for employees, patients and visitors.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in environmental health or occupational safety and health.
• At least two years of experience in a healthcare environment.
• OSH Practitioner registration under the OSHAD-SF mechanism (v3, 2016), with maintenance of professional registration and work towards upgrading the OSH Practitioner grade.
• NEBOSH certificate and Lead Auditor OHSAS 18001:2007 certification.
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic.
• Ability to work under time constraints and manage complexity.
