Senior Planning Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Planning Engineer to lead the creation and implementation of sustainable urban development strategies that support national visions such as the North RAK Vision and Framework Plan. The role blends land‑use planning, infrastructure coordination and smart‑city concepts to shape resilient, liveable and economically viable urban environments.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, design and evaluate comprehensive urban development plans aligned with national and regional policies.
• Integrate land‑use, transportation and utility networks to ensure coherent infrastructure delivery.
• Apply smart‑city principles to enhance livability, sustainability and economic performance.
• Conduct data analysis, modelling and scenario testing to support decision‑making.
• Ensure compliance with planning regulations, zoning laws and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in urban planning or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of professional experience in urban or regional planning.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Arabic proficiency is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GIS tools (preferred).
• Competence in CAD software for drafting and design.
• Strong knowledge of planning regulations and zoning legislation.
• Ability to interpret data and build planning models.
