Senior Presales Solution Engineer

About the role

Couchbase is seeking a Senior Presales Solution Engineer to act as the primary technical field expert for sales engagements. The role focuses on helping customers integrate Couchbase through application code and development processes, combining presales expertise with hands‑on software development experience.

Key responsibilities

• Consult with customers to understand challenges and map them to Couchbase’s ecosystem, delivering sustainable business value.
• Lead technical discovery activities such as workshops, demos, and proof‑of‑concepts, ensuring successful pilot outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with sales teams on account strategy and identify new opportunities within existing and new accounts.
• Present compelling product demonstrations and articulate the technical benefits to audiences ranging from developers to C‑suite executives.
• Provide feedback to product management and engineering, and create technical collateral such as deployment architectures and best‑practice guides.

Required profile

• 8+ years in a pre‑sales, customer‑facing, or consulting role.
• 3+ years of hands‑on software development experience.
• Strong familiarity with NoSQL or other distributed high‑performance databases.
• Excellent presentation skills, able to convey technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Programming languages: Java, Python, JavaScript.NET, C, SQL.
• Experience with major cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Design and optimization of solutions on database platforms, including data modeling, indexing, and query tuning.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases and distributed system concepts.
