Senior Product Owner – Payments & Remittance (Retail Banking)

About the role

The Senior Product Owner will lead the Payments & Remittance portfolio for the Retail Banking Group, driving digital transformation and cross‑border money transfer initiatives. Reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee a global team of product specialists, squads, and external partners to deliver innovative payment solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 40+ staff members, including direct reports and outsourced resources.
• Develop and prioritize business cases for new digital payment use cases aligned with strategic objectives.
• Establish and manage squads focused on Payments & Remittance and Bill Payments, setting objectives and monitoring KPIs.
• Collaborate with compliance, treasury, CXCG, technology, and operations to ensure regulatory alignment and operational efficiency.
• Partner with technology teams to design scalable, secure solutions and drive technology enablement.
• Lead initiatives to enhance cross‑border payment capabilities, emphasizing SWIFT and alternative rails.
• Manage a broad ecosystem of payment networks, processors, fintechs, and service partners.
• Represent the bank in external forums, regulatory discussions, and industry consortia.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in Payments & Remittance product implementation within financial services.
• Proven track record in digital transformation and scaling digital products.
• Deep understanding of digital payment flows, cross‑border money transfer, and SWIFT payments.
