Senior Project Manager - Design

About the role

Hill International is looking for a Senior Design Manager in Abu Dhabi to lead the planning, design, coordination and delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects, including marine works. The role oversees multidisciplinary design teams, manages technical interfaces, project risks, budgets and schedules, and ensures compliance with client requirements, regulatory standards and industry best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, design, procurement, construction and delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects so they finish on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Manage a team of engineers, project managers and construction workers, giving them direction and support.
• Negotiate contracts with clients, contractors and other partners and manage contracts with external vendors.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for infrastructure projects.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and standards, and promote a culture of health and safety.
• Identify and mitigate risks affecting timeline, budget or safety, and manage project budgets.
• Engage with clients, government agencies and regulatory bodies, and prepare progress reports for stakeholders.
• Develop policies and procedures for infrastructure delivery, contribute to strategic plans, and promote continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 20 years of experience, with a minimum of 5 years in the GCC, in infrastructure design and construction management for large-scale GCC infrastructure (roads and utilities) and community development projects.
• Strong experience in roads, utilities and urban development.
• Proven background in PMC/consultancy and multidisciplinary coordination environments.
