Senior Quality Control Inspector - CMM

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group focused on defence and emerging technologies, is hiring a Senior Quality Control Inspector (CMM) in Abu Dhabi. You will perform dimensional inspection of components, assemblies and tooling using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), portable measuring equipment and conventional inspection methods.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, customer specifications and quality standards.
• Validate CMM programs, maintain measurement traceability, support root cause investigations and keep inspection equipment calibrated.
• Perform First Article Inspection, receiving, in-process and final inspections, and verify product conformity against drawings and specifications.
• Develop inspection routines from CAD models, drawings and GD&T requirements, and support offline programming and routine simulation.
• Set up alignment strategies and datum structures, and interpret GD&T according to ASME Y14.5 or customer standards.
• Take part in MSA, Gage R&R studies and uncertainty evaluations, and investigate abnormal measurement results.
• Monitor calibration status, identify and report non-conforming products, and support containment, corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain inspection records and help improve inspection procedures and work instructions.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent in Aerospace, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Preferred: minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, and hands-on experience in aerospace, manufacturing or engineering environments.
• English proficiency is required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
• Preferred: hands-on experience with CMM software such as PCDMIS, Touch DMIS, Metrologic, Modus or Calypso.
