Senior Quality Engineer - Electrical

About the role

Vanderlande, a leading provider of solutions for airport logistics including baggage and cargo handling equipment, software and maintenance services, is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer (Electrical) to join its Quality Management team in Dubai, UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and control suppliers, subcontractors and in-house teams so they comply with project quality plans and quality control documentation.
• Develop and implement project documentation such as inspection and test plans, records, method statements and supplier quality requirements; prepare inspection requests, material inspection requests, submittals and end-of-project documentation.
• Plan and prepare data for internal project status meetings in line with the project schedule.
• Help implement the project quality plan and quality management system, including procedures, work instructions and forms, and support document and record control, nonconformity control, corrective action, internal audit and continuous improvement.
• Carry out supplier audits, incoming, in-process and installation/commissioning inspections, and record FAT and SAT test results; act on nonconformities.
• Prepare regular work reports, manage work schedules, keep the quality inspection status and the Global List of Open Points up to date, and follow up with subcontractors to close open issues.
• Use quality control tools such as histograms, control charts, cause-and-effect diagrams, Pareto analysis and scatter diagrams to propose improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in quality control in a project-based environment.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication and installation is a definite edge; knowledge of business processes and analysis of operational control requirements is required.
• Clear direction and decision-making, ability to work in multicultural project teams, and excellent English communication skills.

Required skills

• ISO 9001:2015 knowledge is a definite edge.
• Good understanding of SCADA/PLC systems is an advantage.
• Hands-on experience in data analysis and statistical reporting.
