Senior Resident Engineer - Roads & Infrastructure

About the role

Parsons is looking for a Senior Resident Engineer (Roads/Infrastructure) to join its team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role acts as the company representative to the client and subcontractors, oversees project plans and quality, and manages the project's budget, schedule and scope.

Key responsibilities

• Mobilize company resources to build project teams capable of delivering quality work.
• Act as the company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during program execution.
• Negotiate changes to the scope of work with the client and key subcontractors, and follow up on related instructions and commitments.
• Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings on behalf of the client.
• Oversee the establishment of the Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan and other required documents.
• Set program requirements for all areas of the project and monitor draft and final deliverables against them.
• Work with managers, project engineers and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules and plans, and ensure the project meets or exceeds them.
• Help devise and execute action plans to fix potential cost overruns or delays or to accommodate major scope changes, and advise the client and company management on such changes.
• Maintain current change orders and promote technical and commercial excellence through QA processes.
• Monitor and report progress, milestones and conditions affecting cost or schedule, and hold weekly meetings to review project status and action items.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 20 years of experience delivering large-scale roads and infrastructure programs; ideally 5 years of Abu Dhabi project experience.
• Proven ability to manage projects, interface with clients and work hands-on technically.
• Incumbent must meet Parsons' project management certification requirements.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
