Senior Sales Manager - Leisure

About the role

Grand Mercure Dubai City, a 5-star Accor hotel with 361 rooms, is looking for a Senior Sales Manager for the leisure segment. Working under the general guidance of the Director of Sales & Marketing, the role covers all sales activities in its area of responsibility and aims to maximize business opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and maintain travel trade customers through face-to-face calls, telephone calls and entertainment.
• Keep the hotel well exposed through direct sales, telephone, fax and written communications.
• Cover the full portfolio across departments and accounts, achieving targets and maximum productivity.
• Develop prospects accounts and run a sales action plan for each account, then execute sales objectives and action plans.
• Report weekly sales activity for the leisure segment to the Director of Sales & Marketing and give feedback on market trends and competition.
• Keep an up-to-date account and contact database and update the Director on the progress of each group negotiation.
• Ensure selling strategies are followed during negotiations and keep knowledge of the property's selling points, amenities, services and policies current.
• Adhere to company rules, keep business confidential and provide sincere, professional service to guests and colleagues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least three years of experience in a similar role in the hospitality industry.
• Proven team leader with a strong track record of living the company's values.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a basic understanding of legal contract language.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook for reports, communication and client correspondence.
• Ability to adapt to sudden increases in working hours as needed by business.
