Senior SAP Technical Consultant – S/4HANA, BTP & Agentic AI

About the role

A major enterprise transformation programme in Abu Dhabi is looking for a Senior SAP Technical Consultant to work on SAP S/4HANA, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), SuccessFactors extensions and Agentic AI development. This is a hands-on engineering role combining deep SAP technical development expertise with cloud technologies, enterprise integrations and practical AI engineering. The position is offered as a 12-month initial contract with extensions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain custom SAP solutions across S/4HANA, SuccessFactors and SAP BTP.
• Build modern ABAP applications using RAP, CDS Views, ABAP Objects and OData services.
• Develop clean-core SAP extensions using BTP, released APIs, BAdIs and enhancement frameworks.
• Build and maintain SAP Fiori/UI5 applications and custom user interfaces.
• Develop integration solutions using SAP Integration Suite, Cloud Integration (CPI), APIs and event-driven architectures.
• Design workflow automation, approval processes and business rules.
• Develop AI-enabled capabilities, including Agentic AI, LLM integrations, MCP servers and AI-powered workflows, using RAG, vector search and governed AI tools.
• Support S/4HANA upgrades, custom code remediation and technical optimisation.
• Own the full development lifecycle, from design and coding through testing, deployment and production support.
• Collaborate with Finance, HR, Integration, Security and AI engineering teams.

Required profile

• 8+ years of hands-on SAP technical development experience, including S/4HANA implementations, upgrades or migrations.
• Hands-on developer mindset, comfortable writing production-quality code and solving complex integration challenges.
• Desirable: previous UAE or GCC project delivery experience, and experience in government, regulated or large enterprise environments.

Required skills

• ABAP on S/4HANA, RAP, CDS Views, ABAP Objects and OData v2/v4.
• SAP BTP, including CAP, Cloud Foundry or Kyma, and HANA Cloud.
• SAP Integration Suite/CPI, iFlows, Groovy scripting, API Management and integration patterns.
• SAP Fiori Elements and SAPUI5.
• Practical AI engineering: LLM API integration, RAG, prompt engineering and tool/function calling; understanding of Agentic AI architecture, orchestration, security and governance.
• Working knowledge of Python, JavaScript, TypeScript or Java alongside ABAP.
• Git, automated testing, secure coding and production deployment.
• Highly desirable: SuccessFactors extensions, MCP server development, SAP AI Core/Joule, SAP Build Process Automation, BRF+, and S/4HANA upgrade support.
