Senior Software Engineer – AI‑Driven Payments

About the role

qlub is building AI‑driven payment experiences for salons and beauty businesses. As a Senior Software Engineer you will own the end‑to‑end loop of specifying problems, directing AI agents, and verifying safe, production‑ready outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and operate secure, reliable payment services (checkout, deposits, tips, refunds, settlement) using AI agents.
• Own integrations with salon management, booking platforms, payment providers and other third‑party systems via agent‑driven workflows.
• Write specs, acceptance criteria, test suites and evaluation metrics that define “done” for agent output.
• Define and run the agentic development workflow, including prompting, context management, and automated verification.
• Implement permissions, human approvals, guardrails, observability, audit trails and fallbacks for any agent handling money or client data.

Required profile

• Proven experience shipping production‑grade software in fast‑moving, high‑growth environments.
• Comfortable working with AI coding agents as the primary development method.
• Strong decision‑making with incomplete information and ownership mindset.
• Passion for solving hard problems in payments, beauty and wellness, and client experience.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with LLM APIs, tool calling, retrieval‑augmented generation and agentic workflows.
• Strong system design knowledge: REST APIs, microservices, asynchronous processing, distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of databases, data modelling and design.
• Experience integrating payment providers, booking or POS systems and complex third‑party APIs.
• Awareness of AI‑system risks (hallucinations, prompt injection, data leakage) and mitigation strategies.
• Proficiency with automated testing, evaluation, observability, debugging and performance optimisation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerised services, CI/CD and infrastructure‑as‑code.
