Senior Software Engineer - Backend

About the role

Digitalzone is looking for a senior backend engineer who will own critical services that power instant digital‑goods fulfillment and live payments. You will drive high‑quality, production‑ready code while balancing speed and correctness in a fast‑moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain end‑to‑end features and services using well‑accepted patterns for scalability and autonomy.
• Ship self‑documenting code, set standards for AI‑assisted development, and ensure all code is thoroughly tested.
• Apply TDD, write mocks where appropriate, and never merge untested code, including edge‑case tests missed by AI generators.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across service boundaries, improve monitoring, and use operational metrics for stability work.
• Identify security vulnerabilities, enforce secure defaults, and design safeguards such as rate limits and idempotency.
• Proactively communicate blockers, manage dependencies, and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor teammates, maintain runbooks and architectural decision records, and participate in on‑call rotations.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of experience building production software in revenue‑generating systems.
• Deep ownership of services and ability to work independently in a high‑stakes environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a commitment to code quality and security.
