Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack (React & Spring Boot)

About the role

Space42 is looking for a Senior Engineer in Software Development in Abu Dhabi. The role leads full-stack delivery across several projects, owning both the React frontend and the Java (Spring Boot) backend outside the dedicated critical-client engagement, which is supported by embedded specialists. You deliver features end-to-end, from design and development through testing and deployment, and work across multiple concurrent projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain features end-to-end across React and Spring Boot, adapting to each project's architecture
• Maintain and extend frontend state management without introducing conflicting patterns
• Ensure data integrity and correct transaction boundaries across concurrent backend operations
• Diagnose and fix issues across the full stack, from frontend rendering and state bugs to backend concurrency and performance
• Profile and improve performance under real usage, not synthetic benchmarks
• Make sure UI changes meet WCAG accessibility standards
• Work on the relational database layer (schema changes, query performance, migrations) with production-safe practices
• Design and consume REST APIs, owning both sides of the contract
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers and Designers in Agile/Scrum, applying change-management discipline suited to each project's risk profile

Required profile

• Strong React experience (5+ years) and strong Java experience (5+ years)
• Comfortable working across multiple projects with different codebases and conventions, and adapting to each project's architecture
• Full-stack capability with end-to-end ownership of features
• Coordinates with, but does not report into, project-dedicated engineers

Required skills

• React, state management patterns, and Java concurrency (thread safety, locking, race conditions, java.util.concurrent)
• Spring Boot and relational databases (SQL, schema design, query tuning, migrations)
• REST API design, WCAG accessibility, and performance tuning
• Nice to have: AI-assisted coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) and Python
