Senior Specialist Economic Analysis

About the role

The Senior Specialist Economic Analysis provides expert economic evaluation to support ADNOC Upstream’s investment decisions, capital projects and business development activities. The role ensures rigorous economic assessments for oil and gas concessions, M&A, farm‑ins/farm‑outs and other corporate transactions, helping optimise the project portfolio and capital efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct economic evaluations of upstream investment opportunities, including concessions, capital projects, mergers & acquisitions and farm‑in/farm‑out transactions.
• Develop, review and update detailed economic models, financial forecasts and sensitivity analyses.
• Support the Upstream Investment Strategy with data‑driven insights for senior management.
• Prepare business cases and presentation materials for Investment Program Committee and Investment Committee.
• Collaborate with Group Companies and other directorates to ensure consistent evaluation methodologies.
• Assess fiscal regimes and concession agreements, providing economic input to protect ADNOC and Government interests.
• Perform portfolio analysis and investment performance reviews to identify optimisation opportunities.
• Monitor macro‑economic, industry and market trends and integrate findings into recommendations.
• Produce position papers, reports and briefing notes for senior leadership.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in economic analysis within the upstream oil & gas sector.
• Proven ability to build and critique complex economic models and financial forecasts.
• Strong understanding of investment strategy, fiscal regimes and concession structures.
• Excellent communication skills for preparing reports and presenting to senior committees.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
