Senior Specialist Project Planner

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group headquartered in the UAE and focused on defence and emerging technologies, is hiring a Senior Specialist Project Planner in Abu Dhabi. You will own the project schedule: building, maintaining and updating detailed plans, tracking progress against key milestones and keeping complex, multi-disciplinary projects on time. You will work closely with Senior Project Managers, engineers and wider stakeholders to coordinate tasks, resources and dependencies across the full project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and monitor integrated project schedules and track project cost for C4ISR projects
• Break down work into tasks, durations and dependencies with project managers and engineers
• Track progress against key milestones and critical path, highlighting delays and risks early
• Coordinate with engineering, operations and commercial teams to keep timelines realistic and current
• Prepare and present schedule reports, dashboards and "what-if" scenarios for management
• Support change control, resource planning and risk/issue management from a schedule perspective

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management or a related field
• 4-7 years' experience in project planning/scheduling, ideally in defence, aerospace, C4ISR or other mission-critical environments
• Preferably working on defence, military or government technology programmes
• Excellent communication skills in English; able to work with multidisciplinary and international teams

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (building, baselining and updating complex schedules)
• Good understanding of project management concepts (WBS, critical path, dependencies, baselines, earned value is a plus)
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, comfortable with data and timelines
