Senior Specialist – Projects (DCS SME)

About the role

AIQ is seeking a Senior Specialist – Projects (DCS SME) to lead the installation, configuration and ongoing support of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) such as AspenTech or Honeywell for its energy‑sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform onsite step testing for process and well operations and develop advanced control strategies using dynamic linear models (DLM) and multivariable predictive control (MPC).
• Oversee instrumentation and controls (I&C) installation, ensuring compliance with contracts, codes, safety and environmental standards.
• Review and approve DCS design, engineering, test procedures and commissioning O&M manuals, and witness contractor tests.
• Coordinate daily and weekly site meetings, prepare progress reports, and manage variation records.
• Ensure integration of safety functions and adherence to ADNOC HSE requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years experience with Distributed Control Systems and at least 5 years leading onsite installation, configuration and support.
• Degree in Control & Instrumentation Engineering, Process Engineering or Electronic Engineering.
• Familiarity with ADNOC HSE safety standards is preferred.
