Senior Subcontracts Specialist

About the role

CB&I is hiring a Senior Subcontracts Specialist in Dubai, UAE, in a professional, individual contributor role reporting directly to the Subcontracts Manager. The specialist manages subcontract agreements, performance and quality metrics and ensures contractual obligations are met. The role suits someone with specialty knowledge of commercial management, engineering, procurement, project controls and construction work processes, and experience in more than two contract specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Support large subcontract efforts of moderate to increasing complexity for local and international projects in an assigned region.
• Perform all commercial subcontract administration, including high-volume packages from request for proposals through execution.
• Manage and administer subcontracts for construction activities on oil and gas projects under minimal supervision.
• Lead pre-award and post-award activities: qualify bidders, issue invitations to bid, assist with bid evaluations, handle daily administration (communications, invoicing, status reports) and contract closeout.
• Own subcontract packages for budget and cost, monitor expenditures and payments, approve changes and negotiate disputes in the company's favour.

Required profile

• 4+ years in supply chain and 8-10+ years in an oil and gas EPC company in project management, subcontracts, contracting strategies or contract management.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or equivalent experience.
• Experience with subcontract templates, packages, bid evaluation, negotiation of terms and conditions, and subcontract development and management.

Required skills

• Database, spreadsheets and MS Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication, critical thinking and adaptability.
• Ability to meet tight timelines and build mentoring relationships.
