Senior Superintendent - Construction (Lifting - Single Point Authority)

About the role

Petrofac is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead lifting and heavy‑haul activities on its Abu Dhabi projects. You will act as the Single Point Authority for all lift, load‑out and haul operations, ensuring safety, compliance and optimal use of resources.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve lift plans for non‑routine, complex and critical categories, as well as weighing procedures and load‑out manuals, in line with Petrofac and project HSSE policies.
• Collaborate with Construction Lead and team leads to develop lift and haul schedules, optimizing resource utilisation based on site priorities.
• Assess lifting and hauling operations, select appropriate cranes, lifting gear and equipment, and define safety precautions.
• Support the development of lift studies, heavy‑haul plans, weighing and load‑out plans, method statements and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
• Conduct daily site audits to verify HSE and lifting/hauling procedure compliance.
• Monitor rigging operations to ensure lifts follow approved rigging plans and procedures.
• Maintain lifting equipment certification, inspection and third‑party approvals, and ensure personnel are trained and competent.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in construction lifting, heavy haul and rigging operations.
• Proven ability to act as a qualified person for load‑in, load‑out, hauling and erection activities.
• Strong knowledge of HSSE standards, lifting regulations and third‑party certification requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in developing lift studies, method statements and safety documentation.
