Senior Sustainability Consultant

About the role

SOZO Management Consultants, an Abu Dhabi-based sustainability consultancy covering green building certifications, sustainability advisory, energy efficiency and commissioning, is hiring a Senior Sustainability Consultant in Abu Dhabi. This is a full-time, on-site, client-facing project delivery role for someone who can independently manage technical deliverables, coordinate with clients and take ownership of projects, with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage sustainability consultancy deliverables for design and construction-stage projects.
• Prepare, review and coordinate Estidama, LEED and other green building certification documentation and submissions.
• Review architectural, MEP and construction documentation against sustainability requirements.
• Coordinate directly with clients, architects, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders; lead technical discussions, attend client meetings and present findings and recommendations.
• Conduct construction-stage site inspections, compliance assessments and technical reviews.
• Monitor project schedules, certification progress, deliverables and deadlines, and resolve technical issues proactively.
• Prepare technical reports, correspondence and client presentations.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of relevant sustainability consultancy experience in the UAE.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience delivering green building certification projects in both design and construction stages.
• Valid Estidama PQP and/or LEED AP accreditation (the Estidama PBRS certificate is mandatory).
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• Valid UAE driver's license and own car, able to travel independently to project sites.
• Excellent spoken and written English, including leading client meetings and presenting professionally.

Required skills

• Practical experience with Estidama and/or LEED certification processes, documentation and submissions.
• Ability to communicate and coordinate with clients, consultants and contractors.
• Preferred: both Estidama PQP and LEED AP, other rating systems (WELL, Fitwel, BREEAM, Al Safat), and experience with sustainability assessments or carbon calculations (LCA).
