Senior System Administrator

About the role

Sundus Consultancy is seeking a Senior System Administrator to manage, maintain, and secure its IT infrastructure in Abu Dhabi. The role supports government‑related services, ensuring reliable and secure technology for citizen and community initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, operating systems, and data storage systems.
• Manage user accounts, access rights, and Active Directory/identity management in line with government data governance.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity, proactively resolving issues.
• Administer email, collaboration platforms, and internal case‑management applications.
• Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures for critical systems and citizen data.
• Provide Tier 2/3 technical support, troubleshoot hardware/software/network problems, and handle IT helpdesk escalations.
• Maintain documentation of IT assets, configurations, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinate with external vendors, telecom providers, and government IT bodies on infrastructure, licensing, and integration projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 3‑6 years of experience as a System Administrator, preferably in a government or public‑sector environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux administration.
• Experience with virtualization, networking, and Active Directory.
• Familiarity with UAE government IT compliance frameworks is a strong advantage.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA/MCSE, CompTIA Server+/Security+, CCNA, ITIL) are preferred.
