Senior Technical Lead - AI Platform

About the role

AI71, an artificial intelligence company building secure, enterprise-ready applications for knowledge workers, is looking for a highly experienced Senior Technical Lead. The role drives the technical design, delivery and engineering excellence of the AI71 platform, combining architecture, engineering leadership and hands-on execution. You will lead high-performing teams, shape technical direction and work with Product, AI/ML and leadership stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own system architecture for scalable, secure, high-performance platforms and lead technical design reviews.
• Drive best practices in software design, coding standards and system reliability, and make build vs. buy decisions on emerging technologies.
• Identify opportunities to use AI tooling in the software delivery lifecycle.
• Lead and mentor engineers at all levels, set engineering standards and code review culture, and support hiring, onboarding and performance development.
• Translate business requirements into technical plans, partner with Product Managers on roadmaps and feasibility, and manage technical risks and dependencies.
• Oversee system performance, monitoring, logging and reliability, and work with DevSecOps on CI/CD, infrastructure automation and security.
• Collaborate with AI/ML engineers, frontend and backend teams, and communicate architectural decisions to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 8-12+ years in software engineering, including 3-5+ years in a technical leadership or architect-level role.
• Experience building AI-powered or ML-enabled applications.
• Preferred: enterprise or government-grade systems, familiarity with security, compliance and privacy frameworks, and prior experience in high-growth or startup environments.

Required skills

• Backend systems (e.g. Python) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, SQL and NoSQL databases and APIs.
• Proven track record leading code reviews and maintaining high engineering standards.
