Senior Technical Software Engineer – DevOps

About the role

As a senior technologist in the DevOps and Automation team, you will drive DevOps and automation practices across products and programs. You will design and implement enterprise‑level CI/CD and cloud automation solutions, applying site‑reliability principles to ensure high availability, performance and efficient change management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the discovery phase of cloud adoption and migration, partnering with architects and security to define DevOps and cloud engineering architectures.
• Automate change management, resiliency, monitoring, capacity planning and emergency response for assigned product sets.
• Act as the primary lead for service reliability, scalability and performance within Agile release trains, improving the lifecycle of products through continuous deployment pipelines.
• Review and optimise deployment and operational environments, reducing failure rates and expanding monitoring capabilities.
• Collaborate with Release Engineering, Product Development and Security to design canary‑style deployments, seamless releases and rollback strategies.
• Ensure the continuous deployment pipeline remains healthy, delivering high‑quality, production‑ready code.
• Build, maintain and operate development, CI and CD environments based on cloud‑native design principles such as the 12‑factor app methodology.
• Advise on DevSecOps practices, architecting security solutions that meet robust standards.
