About the role
Emirates is seeking a Senior Technical Software Engineer to drive and implement software engineering strategies for its aviation services. Based in Dubai, you will work within a feature team to design, develop and operate critical business solutions using .NET technologies.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with the team to deliver technical design, development and deployment of complex solutions.
- Drive adoption of engineering practices such as test‑driven development, CI/CD, lean software development and agile methodologies.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to evaluate solution viability, create prototypes and conduct proof‑of‑concepts.
- Investigate, debug and resolve complex issues, and contribute to continuous improvement through new technology evaluation.
- Mentor and guide Software Engineers, ensuring adherence to design and coding standards.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience, preferably in large, complex organisations.
- Strong background in full‑stack .NET development and production support using ITIL frameworks.
- Proven experience in technology evaluation, vendor selection and data‑driven decision making.
Required skills
- .NET (C#, Visual Basic .NET.NET Core.NET Framework, ASP.NET, MVC, WPF, Windows Forms)
- Front‑end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
- API development: RESTful, SOAP, Microservices, Design Patterns
- Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, MariaDB, Couchbase, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Cassandra
- DevOps tools: Git, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Jenkins, JIRA, Confluence
- Testing frameworks: xUnit, NUnit, MSTest
- Quality and security tools: SonarQube, ShiftLeft
