Senior Technician - Environmental Test, Mechanical Laboratory

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group headquartered in the UAE focused on defence and emerging technologies, is hiring an experienced Environmental Testing Technician for its Halcon unit in Abu Dhabi. The role supports the environmental qualification and validation of advanced aerospace and defence systems, working closely with engineering teams so that products meet performance, reliability and environmental requirements throughout development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute environmental test plans for components, assemblies and systems during development, qualification and acceptance phases.
• Configure and integrate test instrumentation, data acquisition systems and test fixtures.
• Analyse test results and evaluate mechanical equipment performance against design requirements and engineering predictions.
• Support the development and maintenance of environmental testing facilities while mentoring technical staff and ensuring testing best practices.

Required profile

• Diploma, B.Tech, M.Tech or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of test and evaluation experience in aerospace, defence, aviation or other high-technology engineering environments.
• Preferred: experience supporting aerospace, missile, guided munition, defence or military product development programs.
• Preferred: experience designing and integrating environmental test stands, instrumentation systems and qualification testing facilities.
• English proficiency required; unsolicited resumes from recruitment agencies are not accepted.

• Environmental testing methodologies, test instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
• Performance analysis and interpretation of engineering drawings.
• CAD tools and support for developing test fixtures, jigs and test equipment.
