Senior Transport Planner (RTA Approved)

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Senior Transport Planner (RTA Approved) with 12‑15 years of experience to join our Transport Planning and Strategic Advisory Business Unit in the Middle East. The role involves leading transport planning studies, traffic impact assessments and multi‑disciplinary projects for both public and private sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to large‑scale transport master plan assessments and traffic impact studies.
• Independently lead the Transport Impact Study (TIS) process in Dubai, coordinating with various RTA departments.
• Prepare and submit reports in line with RTA requirements.
• Review and lead traffic analysis and the overall TIS workflow.
• Support project/financial management activities as needed.
• Assist in business development and promote Atkins transport planning services.

Required profile

• Minimum 12‑15 years of transport planning, traffic engineering and modelling experience in the UAE.
• RTA‑approved Liaison Engineer with experience on Level 1‑3 TIS projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent; Master’s degree in transport planning is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of local transport planning standards, guidelines and manuals.
• Proven ability to work independently and communicate effectively in English.
