Senior Vice President – Power Infrastructure & Capital Projects

About the role

A major asset-intensive organization in the UAE is seeking an accomplished Senior Vice President for Power Infrastructure and Capital Projects. The role leads a major capital projects portfolio, from setting infrastructure investment priorities and long-term development needs through engineering, governance, execution, commissioning and handover. Key responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of major power, energy and infrastructure capital projects.
• Drive long-term capital planning, project prioritization and investment decisions.
• Determine infrastructure development requirements based on future capacity, demand, asset performance and business priorities.
• Lead projects across power generation, transmission, distribution, substations, grid infrastructure and associated assets.
• Oversee projects from feasibility and concept through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Establish portfolio governance, project controls, risk management and performance frameworks.
• Provide executive oversight of CAPEX, budgets, schedules, contractors, consultants and project performance.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering, project management, commercial and technical teams.
• Manage senior relationships with regulators, authorities, developers, consultants, EPC contractors and strategic partners.

Required profile

• Experience on the asset owner/developer side of large power or infrastructure organizations, with responsibility beyond project execution.
• Large-scale power generation, transmission and/or distribution infrastructure.
• Multi-billion capital project or infrastructure portfolios.
• Capital investment planning, portfolio prioritization and infrastructure master planning.
• Portfolio governance, executive-level decision-making and CAPEX planning with financial accountability.
• Contractor, consultant and commercial management, and government, regulatory and stakeholder engagement.
• Leading large multidisciplinary teams.
• Candidates currently based in the UAE are preferred, then those with relevant GCC experience; international candidates should come from the power, electricity, energy or closely related infrastructure sector.

Relevant previous titles include SVP/VP of Projects, VP of Capital Projects, Head of Capital Projects, Director of Power or Grid Projects and Programme Directors of Power Infrastructure.
