Service and Maintenance Engineer

About the role

EDGE is seeking a Service and Maintenance Engineer to join its Operation Support team in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting CNC and production machinery, especially DMG Mori and multi‑axis CNC machines, to ensure reliable and safe operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled, preventive and emergency maintenance on DMG Mori and multi‑axis CNC machines.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and diagnose faults on Fanuc, Siemens and Heidenhain CNC controllers.
• Align machines using dial indicators, lasers and test bars; service WEDM and EDM systems.
• Repair PLCs, automated circuits and control panels; backup and restore CNC parameters and machine data.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of recurring failures and support machine installation, relocation and upgrades.
• Develop preventive‑maintenance schedules, manage critical spare parts and record activities in a CMMS.
• Ensure compliance with HSE and LOTO procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in maintenance or service engineering of CNC machinery.
• Strong hands‑on experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Good written and spoken English.

Required skills

• DMG Mori and multi‑axis CNC machine maintenance.
• Fanuc, Siemens and Heidenhain CNC controller troubleshooting.
• PLC fault finding and automated system repair.
• WEDM and EDM system servicing.
• Machine alignment using dial indicators, lasers and test bars.
• CMMS platforms such as SAP or Maximo.
• Knowledge of HSE and LOTO safety procedures.
