Service Project Manager – Protection and Automation

About the role

As a Service Project Manager for Switchgear Protection and Automation, you will lead electrification and automation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role requires strong technical knowledge of medium‑voltage switchgear and associated protection and automation systems, particularly in utility substations and the oil & gas sector.

Key responsibilities

• Take over projects from the sales team and develop comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, procurement, revenue generation, and detailed work‑package schedules.
• Issue purchase orders and subcontract agreements, managing subcontractor relationships in line with the procurement plan.
• Continuously monitor technical and commercial progress, control cash‑flow, and trigger escalations when needed.
• Prepare internal and external project status reports following company and customer guidelines.
• Conduct risk assessments from hand‑over to project completion, devise mitigation actions, and monitor risk factors.
• Identify deviations early, negotiate changes, and manage contract claims.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships and ensure effective customer communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience with medium‑voltage switchgear, protection relays, bay control units, fault monitoring and substation control & monitoring systems.
• Background in managing projects for utility substations or oil & gas facilities.
• Ability to plan, procure, monitor, and report on complex engineering projects.
• Strong risk‑management and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
