Services Engineer – Steam Trap Specialist (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

TROUVAY & CAUVIN is looking for a Services Engineer to join its Abu Dhabi team. The role focuses on steam trap inspection and condition assessment across refineries, petrochemical plants, LNG facilities, gas processing units, offshore platforms and utility systems, aiming to improve reliability and reduce energy losses.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct steam trap surveys and inspections in live operating oil & gas facilities using ultrasonic testing and infrared temperature measurement.
• Identify failed or inefficient traps, verify correct installation, sizing, orientation and suitability for the application.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, including failure analysis, steam loss calculations, energy‑saving estimates and repair/replacement recommendations.
• Update steam trap management databases and asset registers with audit documentation.
• Support plant reliability programs, coordinate with operations, maintenance and energy management teams, and assist during shutdowns and turnarounds.
• Ensure all technical documents comply with company procedures and report incidents to the QHSE Regional Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in steam trap inspection or related industrial engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of steam traps, steam accessories and their technical specifications.
