About the role

Le Méridien in Dubai is hiring a Sewage Plant Operator (job number 26142402) in its Engineering & Facilities category. The position is full time and non-management, based at Al Mamsha Street, PO Box 24970, Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest repair requests and communicate with guests and customers about maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication, and visually inspect tools, equipment and machines.
• Identify, locate and operate shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and replace light bulbs and A/C filters, then clean up the work area.
• Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing (plunge toilets, unclogging drains), electrical components, lamps, switches and outlets, and other guestroom items.
• Program TVs, perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties, and use the Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance work.
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping and external sprinklers.
• Input air handler schedules and make temperature changes on a computer.
• Welcome guests, assist individuals with disabilities and follow safety, security and company policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting preferred.
• Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Driver's license required.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge or ability to learn air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation and general building.
• Basic computer skills, including entering air handler schedules and changing temperatures.
