Site Engineer – Utility Construction

About the role

Safad Trading Establishment is seeking a Site Engineer to support the delivery, supervision, and coordination of utility‑related construction and site activities in Abu Dhabi. The role involves overseeing daily site works, ensuring compliance with approved drawings and specifications, and coordinating with contractors and site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily site works and verify that activities follow approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules.
• Review technical documents, shop drawings, material submittals, and work plans for compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers to resolve technical issues and monitor progress.
• Conduct site inspections, record measurements, and prepare daily reports, progress updates and snagging documentation.
• Support material planning, quantity verification, testing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Promote compliance with health, safety, environmental and permit requirements and identify delays, risks or variations for corrective action.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of site engineering principles, construction methods and utility infrastructure work.
• Ability to read and interpret civil, mechanical, electrical and utility drawings, specifications and schedules.
• Experience in site inspections, quantity verification, progress tracking, snagging and technical reporting.
• Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, contractors and suppliers.
• Understanding of quality control procedures, testing requirements, method statements, risk assessments and safe work practices.
• Proficiency with engineering documentation and standard office productivity tools; familiarity with AutoCAD is advantageous.
