Site Inspector – Materials (Dubai Infrastructure Projects)

About the role

The Site Inspector – Materials will join Khatib & Alami’s supervision services team on major infrastructure projects in Dubai. Working closely with project managers and supervision engineers, the role focuses on inspecting construction progress, ensuring compliance with quality, health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) standards, and verifying that contractors follow approved drawings and specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Review contractor work programmes, sub‑missions, shop drawings, method statements and traffic management plans during pre‑construction.
• Monitor daily contractor activities (e.g., concrete pouring, installations) together with Planning Engineers.
• Conduct inspections based on Requests for Inspection, record findings and issue rejections where necessary.
• Perform quality inspections alongside QA/QC engineers and follow up on non‑conformities.
• Support HSSE engineers in enforcing HSSE procedures and reporting non‑conformities.
• Assist Materials Engineers in supervising material testing and verifying samples against specifications.
• Help project teams assess and respond to contractor claims related to scope, schedule or cost.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of construction drawings, specifications and standard workmanship details.

Required profile

• Strong familiarity with construction drawings, specifications and standard details.
• Experience working with supervision teams on large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Ability to coordinate inspections, quality checks and HSSE compliance on site.
