Site Mechanical Engineer – Construction Projects

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Site Mechanical Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy. You will manage on‑site mechanical system installations for high‑profile construction projects, ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise installation of HVAC, plumbing, and fire‑protection systems on site.
• Ensure all works comply with project specifications, approved drawings, and codes such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and local building regulations.
• Conduct site inspections to verify quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and consultants to resolve technical issues.
• Review and approve subcontractor shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
• Monitor progress to guarantee timely completion of installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Provide technical support during site meetings and ensure alignment with other disciplines.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems.
• Prepare daily and weekly reports on mechanical site activities.
• Liaise with authorities to secure permits and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 10–12 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare‑specific mechanical systems, including HVAC, medical gas, fire protection, and plumbing.
• Proven experience supervising mechanical installations and ensuring code compliance.
• Familiarity with mechanical system testing, commissioning, and handover processes.
