SMT & PCBA Engineer / Senior Engineer

About the role

EDMP is seeking an experienced SMT & PCBA Engineer (Senior) to lead and improve manufacturing operations for smart metering products. The role is based on‑site at the JAFZA facility in Dubai and involves managing high‑volume production lines, driving process optimisation and supporting new product introductions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, monitor and manage SMT & PCBA production activities, ensuring smooth operation of printers, SPI, pick‑and‑place, reflow ovens, AOI and conveyors.
• Optimise process parameters, validate new products, and reduce defects through root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Oversee equipment installation, commissioning, preventive and predictive maintenance, and track OEE performance.
• Ensure compliance with IPC, ISO 9001/14001/45001 and customer standards; monitor FPY, DPMO, rework rate and lead CAPA activities.
• Support NPI by reviewing BOMs, Gerber files, conducting DFM/DFA reviews and transferring products to production.
• Maintain SOPs, work instructions, control plans, PFMEA and production reports.
• Provide technical guidance, training and certification for operators and technicians.
• Analyse OEE, yield, productivity and KPI data and present improvement actions to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics or related engineering field.
• 5–10 years of SMT & PCBA manufacturing experience, with at least 3 years in smart metering, telecommunications or industrial electronics.
• Proven experience with high‑volume automated production lines and Lean/Six Sigma environments.
