Social Media Intern

About the role

Furchild, a profitable independent D2C pet food brand in the UAE, is looking for a social media intern to plan and run its monthly social media calendar across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube, and to help grow the community and produce content.

Key responsibilities

• Plan the monthly calendar by meeting marketing, product, Food Advisers, retail and vet partners to collect launches, offers, events and key messages, and tie posts to UAE moments such as summer heat, travel season, Ramadan and Eid, back to school and National Day.
• Write creative briefs and work with designers, videographers and editors to deliver every post on time, keeping track of assets from brief to approval to publication.
• Publish content across platforms, adapting formats such as Reels, TikToks, carousels, Stories and LinkedIn posts, and shoot and edit UGC-style videos on a phone (unboxing, mealtime reactions, raw vs kibble explainers).
• Find and work with real customers and pet creators to produce authentic UGC.
• Reply to comments and DMs, respond to every Google review, route sales enquiries to the Food Advisers and service issues to customer care.
• Track competitor activity and trends, and report monthly on what was posted, what performed and what will change next month.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or final-year student in Marketing, Media, Communications or a related field.
• Comfortable on camera and behind it; excellent written English; Arabic is a strong plus.
• Organised enough to manage a busy calendar with many stakeholders, and confident enough to follow up on deadlines politely.
• A love of animals, even better if you are a pet parent yourself.

Required skills

• Can shoot and edit short videos on a phone (CapCut, InShot or similar).
• Basic Canva skills.
• Familiarity with Meta Business Suite or a scheduling tool is a plus.
